Melissa Markham

I qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and have specialised in family law throughout my career. This has given me extensive knowledge and practical experience in helping clients navigate the legal, financial and personal difficulties that can arise when a relationship breaks down.

I understand that approaching a family solicitor can feel daunting, particularly when you are already dealing with uncertainty about your home, finances or children. I believe it is important that my clients find me approachable, that they feel listened to and that the advice they receive is sensitive to their individual circumstances.

My role is not simply to explain the law. I work hard to give clients clear, practical advice so that they understand their options and feel able to make informed decisions. By breaking the process into manageable steps, I aim to reduce uncertainty and help each client build the confidence they need to move forward.

Every family is different, so I tailor my approach to the person and circumstances in front of me. Wherever possible, I help clients explore constructive and proportionate ways to resolve matters. When court proceedings are necessary, I draw on my extensive advocacy experience and Higher Rights of Audience to provide clear guidance and effective representation.

My aim is to help clients protect what matters most to them and establish a secure foundation for their own future and that of their children following separation.
